CO Garrett Thomas (Eagan) spent time monitoring angling activity on local lakes. Despite the rainy conditions, many anglers were out all weekend enjoying the holiday. Most violations encountered were related to anglers not having licenses or trout stamps when applicable. Enforcement action was taken.

CO Tony Salzer (Ham Lake) patrolled Anoka and Washington counties for angling and boating activity. Salzer assisted in a litter investigation and with an invasive species detail in Dakota County. Salzer worked angling and boating activity during the holiday weekend with less recreational activity observed due to the cooler and rainy weather.

CO Scott Arntzen (Forest Lake) spent the week checking anglers, boaters and doing AIS enforcement. He also investigated a littering complaint, issued several wetland restoration orders, and fielded calls about nuisance animals. Violations for the week included fishing without a license, no helmets on an ATV, insufficient PFDs on a watercraft, failure to register a turkey, and speeding.

CO Matt Paavola (White Bear Lake) assisted with conducting an invasive species detail and continued patrols for angling and turkey hunting activity throughout the area. Follow up continues related to multiple ongoing TIP complaints. Several citations for taking fish without a license were issued during the week.

CO Steve Chihak (Hastings) spent the week working sport fishing, boating and water safety, and ATV enforcement. Time was also spent responding to TIP reports and miscellaneous wildlife-related calls.

CO Tou Vang (ELCOP-Hmong) attended online training on invasive jumping worms, assisted with Academy use of force training at Camp Ripley, and staffed a DNR booth at the fourth-annual Hmong Sports Fest and Street Fair at Kingston Park in Cottage Grove over the Memorial Day weekend.
