Minnesota River Valley Area study results
The Minnesota River Valley is an important resource to residents of the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area. This area (the area between the River bluffs from Le Sueur, downstream, to the confluence with the Mississippi River) is used for outdoor enjoyment and education, provides habitat for fish and wildlife populations and is used for economic purposes. In order to gain an understanding of the public's use and perceptions of the Valley area, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Parks and Recreation, along with the US Fish and Wildlife service, the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of the Minnesota Valley, designed a survey to gain an understanding of the public's use and perceptions of the Minnesota River Valley area. Input gained from the public through the survey will provide important information in discussions about future management of the Minnesota River Valley area.
