The Forest Bird Diversity Initiative is a joint effort of the DNR and Natural Resources Research Institute (University of Minnesota, Duluth). The Initiative's goal is to develop landscape management tools to maintain the state's unique diversity of forest birds through monitoring, research, modeling, and education and management.
