Return to Conservation Biology Research on Fish

Schmidt, K.P. 1993. Minnesota state parks fish species lists . Final report submitted to the Natural Heritage and Nongame Research Program, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. 200 pp.

Since 1987, fish surveys have been conducted at 65 state parks to establish baseline data on species occurrence and relative abundance. Interim progress reports have been provided to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources - Division of Parks and Recreation. The purpose of this report is to compile a final species list for each state park. Potential uses include interpretation, monitoring short and long term trends in fish communities to factors which impact or improve habitat and water quality, and a reference list for reintroductions following a reclamation project or chemical spill.
