Where to go: This will be the final fall colors report of the season. Almost all of the trees are bare now, except for some small pockets of aspens and the oaks along the high ridges. It's time to dust off your winter boots and skis! Winter is a great time to explore the park.

Start by purchasing a one-day permit for $5 and visit as many state parks as possible. After visiting the state parks, trade in the one-day permit by the end of that day and get $5 off the purchase of a year-round permit.
