Where to go: More wind and rain is bringing more leaves to the ground. There is still some beautiful color remaining. Hike along Moose Ridge trail and sit a spell, admire the colors while overlooking the lake.
What you'll see: Dogwoods are still showing deep shades of red. The birches and aspen are losing their leaves, but there remains some stand out yellows! Along the Forest road Yellow Coneflowers are quite abundant.
Also of interest: Late Season Boat Rentals will only be available during office hours. Please call ahead for availability. If no answer please leave a message. Water will be turned off to the campground Oct 7th.
Last updated: October 5, 2013Can’t decide between a one-day or year-round park permit? The DNR has a special offer that can help. Start by purchasing a one-day permit for $5 and visit as many state parks as possible. After visiting the state parks, trade in the one-day permit by the end of that day and get $5 off the purchase of a year-round permit. Year-round permits, which cost $25, provide unlimited access to all 76 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas for a full year from the month of purchase.
