Where to go: The lookout over Coon Lake near site 8 in Chase Point Campground gives a great lake view. The trail leading to Chase Point is always beautiful and the added color makes it even more spectacular! The drive along Scenic Hwy 7 is also showing great color!
What you'll see: Maples are close to peak and displaying some fantastic reds and oranges. There is beginning to be a beautiful mix of greens, oranges, reds, and yellows in the park. The color is rapidly changing!
Also of interest: Moose tracks have recently been spotted on some trails at Scenic State Park. Keep your eyes open!Last updated: September 22, 2014
Canít decide between a one-day or year-round park permit? The DNR has a special offer that can help. Start by purchasing a one-day permit for $5 and visit as many state parks as possible. After visiting the state parks, trade in the one-day permit by the end of that day and get $5 off the purchase of a year-round permit. Year-round permits, which cost $25, provide unlimited access to all 76 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas for a full year from the month of purchase.
