Jack pine budworm larval surveys taken at thirty five different locations produced 15 live larvae on 175 branches for an average of less that 0 .1 larvae per branch. Little to no defoliation was evident on the surveys. Defoliation activity by JPBW in Region 1 is not significant in 2002.
