Such actions include walking in the center of trails to avoid picking up the ticks from grass and brush, wearing light colored clothes so ticks are visible, creating a barrier to ticks by tucking pants into socks or boots and tucking long sleeved shirts into pants, using a tick repellent, and doing a complete body check after being outdoors. An excellent brochure "Lyme Disease" is available from the Dept. of Health at 612-623-5414.
