St. Croix Valley Blowdown
• Windstorms on July 1 and July 19, 2011 swept across Pine County, damaging 97,150 acres in St. Croix State Park and Chengwatana, Nemadji, and St. Croix state forests.
•The salvage (harvest) of blowdown timber is critical to reduce insect problems, encourage regeneration, and reduce wildfire potential.
