Why certification matters to you

Now you, as a consumer, can choose to purchase wood products that came from a sustainable managed forest. Look for the FSC or SFI logo the next time you're buying lumber, plywood, paper, or furniture. These logos verify that the wood product you're buying came from a well managed forest where trees were planted to replace the trees that were cut; rare, threatened, or endangered species are protected and steps are taken to increase their populations; steps were taken to protect water quality, and a whole host of other issues were considered before any forest management took place.

Do your part to protect forests by purchasing certified wood products when they're available. Just look for the logos.
