Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area

Description:

Billings-Tomfor Conservation Area is a 93-acre natural area, locally known as Coon Hill. The bluff top area provides scenic vistas of the neighborhoods and river valley. The property includes Oak Forest, Mesic and Dry Prairie natural communities and provides habitat for the Bladder Pod, a State Endangered Plant species. Located adjacent to Twin Bluff Middle School, the site is used as an environmental education area. Two Natural and Scenic Area grants were provided to the City to help acquire 87 acres.
