Meeker and Stearns County – Koronis Regional Park

Description:

Meeker and Stearns Counties jointly own the park which is approximately 62 acres in size and located on the southwest shore of Koronis Lake, near Paynesville. Currently, the park provides overnight camping with electricity and water, bathrooms with showers, playground equipment, a swimming beach, boat landing, several picnic shelters, lookout tower, ball fields, volleyball, shuffleboard and horseshoe courts. Four grants were awarded to Meeker County to acquire and develop this park. A Regional Park Grant was used to redevelop the campground area to provide accessible restrooms and showers, accessible campsites and replace the playground equipment. Three Outdoor Recreation Grants were used to acquire 52 acres and develop the boat launch, campground, picnic facilities, trails, lighting, landscaping, parking, roads, restrooms and signs.
