The goal through 2015 is to maintain a free-ranging, wild elk population in northwestern Minnesota within the constraints and opportunities established by MN Statute 97B.516. We envision a healthy, reproducing, yet limited population that affords optimum recreational opportunity for all state citizens, including regular hunting seasons.
