Welcome to the DNR Fish & Wildlife Division's informal online opportunity to provide input on Minnesota's waterfowl hunting regulations.
This survey is not a substitute for the department's periodic formal survey of waterfowl hunters. Instead, wildlife program staff, managers and researchers want to give Minnesota waterfowl hunters a chance to weigh in on hunting regulation options.
Due to the timing of duck population estimates and the federal hunting framework, the DNR must make annual decisions regarding waterfowl hunting seasons in a tight time frame. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announces the regulatory framework in August and the DNR, in turn, must make decisions that take affect in September.
Hearing from hunters helps inform the department's decisions. Please take a few moments and respond thoughtfully. Your comments, informal though they may be, will help us keep up with what you – Minnesota's waterfowlers – are thinking.
