Cook County - Tom Lake Area GIA ATV Trail Proposal, Cook County

The DNR invites public review and written comment on a proposal by Cook County to obtain state Grant-in-Aid (GIA) funding to maintain and operate a 16-mile All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) trail in the Grand Portage State Forest. The entire trail alignment is on forest roads and access routes that were designated for ATV use by Commissioner’s Order in 2007. Bringing the trail into the GIA program will provide additional funding for trail maintenance, repair, safety improvements, monitoring, and enforcement.

The trail will be maintained by the Cook County ATV Club, under agreement with Cook County.
