The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) held a public hearing to receive public comments regarding allowing archery hunting, fishing, access by watercraft, and dogs under control at the Cannon River Trout Lily Scientific and Natural Area (SNA).
Scientific and Natural Areas are state lands established to preserve natural features and rare resources of exceptional scientific and educational value. The Cannon River Trout Lily SNA is open to the public for non-motorized activities such as hiking, bird-watching, nature photography, and snowshoeing.
The Cannon River Trout Lily SNA protects an undisturbed southern maple-basswood forest and floodplain forest communities along with habitat for rare species.
