Additional Recreational Uses Proposed for
Townsend Woods SNA


No changes in recreational uses will be made to Townsend Woods SNA.


Public hearing was held April 10, 2014 in Faribault, MN


The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) held a public hearing to receive public comments regarding allowing archery hunting and dogs under control at the Townsend Woods Scientific and Natural Area (SNA).

Scientific and Natural Areas are state lands established to preserve natural features and rare resources of exceptional scientific and educational value. The Townsend Woods SNA is open to the public for non-motorized activities such as hiking, bird-watching, nature photography, and snowshoeing.
