Community Conservation Assistance Grant Criteria
Proposal submissions to DNR’s Community Conservation Assistance Program will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Required Criteria
- Project area is fully or partially within the Metro Conservation Corridors focus area (see map)

- At least a 25% match with non-state cash or in-kind support to the proposed project
- Project completion by June 30, 2011
- If selected for a grant, submission of a resolution supporting the project and proposed follow-up actions within 4 weeks of award notification
Additional Selection Criteria
- Regionally significant wetland and upland habitats in need of protection, restoration, or reconnection exist in the project area
- Sensitive water bodies and riparian habitats that require protection or restoration to prevent water quality impairment exist in the project area
- Evidence of real or projected community development pressure that will impact valued land and water resources
- Clear articulation of why land cover inventory is needed and how its use will improve the conservation of community natural resources (if a grant is requested for land cover inventory)
- Evidence that this project complements other identified local conservation efforts
- Project collaboration and communication within and/or among local government departments and units
- Clear articulation of how the deliverables produced under the grant will be put to use by local government
- Identification of reasonable measures of project success
- Consideration to how project results will be disseminated within and beyond the community
