Requirements:
Participants in this training will recieve all PLT and WILD materials, including the new PLT Early Childhood Experiences book. Becoming a DNR volunteer facilitator is a great way to boost your resume.

PLT Joins Leopold Education Project (LEP) in for a Summer Writing Institute
Journaling in nature is a great way to teach students writing, art, observation, and inquiry skills. Learn how to combine PLT activities with activities in the LEP and Minnesota Weatherguide Calendar curriculum. Attend this 2-day summer institute at the beautiful Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve in East Bethel and get:

Five New Environmental Lesson Plans Available on Seek
Five new grade 3-12 lesson plans on environment and health are available. Lesson plans contain connections to Minnesota state science standards and the environmental literacy scope and sequence, along with links to additional related resources. Titles include Water Habitat Site Study, grade 5; Growing Germs in a Petri Dish, Grade 7; Ladybugs to the Rescue, Grade 3; The Business of Recycling, Grades 8-12 and Electricity and Energy Conservation, Grade 6.
Contributing groups include the Minnesota DNR, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Minnesota Department of Health, and Xcel Energy.
