Springbrook Nature Center IBA
This IBA was chosen because of its importance as an urban reserve and long-term research site. Springbrook Nature Center IBA contains several habitat types. It is 40% waters and wetlands, it also contains oak and aspen woodlands, oak savannah, and native undisturbed prairie. More than 100 species of birds have been recorded in the area. Ongoing Citizen Science Projects include Christmas bird counts, Project Feeder Watch and songbird banding are establishing a long-term database in the middle of a major urban environment.
