Seasonal Update
Water: Water is available year-round at the Visitor Center, at the solar pump in the Lower Picnic Area, and at the Backpack Campground.
Drinking Water: Water is available year-round at the Visitor Center, at the soloar pump in the Lower Picnic area, and at the solar pump at the Backpack Campground.
Bathroom Facilities: Modern bathroom facilities are available year-round in the Visitor Center. The facilities are handicapped accessible. Vault toilets are also available year-round throughout the park.
Showers: The park does not have showers.
Campgrounds: Camping is available year-round at this park. Twenty-eight (28) hike-in campsites are available. The sites are non-electric. Both of the park's Group Camps are open for the season. Reservations are recommended.
Electric Sites: The park does not have electric sites.
Special Notes for RV Campers: RV camping is not available at Afton State Park, but is available at a nearby county park, St. Croix Bluffs, on a seasonal basis.
Reservations: Reservations are recommended during the regular camping season for the backpack campground and group camp. No reservations needed from November 1 - April 1. Camper cabins are available to reserve up to 1 year in advance and reservations are recommended.

Trail Notes: All of our hiking trails are currently open. The horse trails are open for the season. Our bike trails are surfaced. Mountain bikers may prefer to use the trail system at Afton Alps.
Season Rentals: The Visitor Center and Middle Picnic Shelter in the park are available for rent on a seasonal basis. Call the park for rates and availability. We have started renting snowshoes at the park. We do allow reservations on a limited number of pairs. Call the park office to reserve.
