I Can Climb!
Thrill seekers get ready, because I Can Climb! is here to get you off the couch and up onto some of Minnesota's most stunning cliff faces. This is a real, hands-on rock climbing experience designed especially for first-time climbers, with no experience necessary. Qualified professionals will teach you the basic skills you need to get to the top. They'll help you with your equipment and get you climbing in no time. With three different program formats, you're sure to find something that's just right for you and your family! |

I Can Climb!: Perfect for first-time and beginning climbers, these 90-minute programs cover the basics and will have you climbing firsthand. (Ages 5 and up.)
I Can Climb! On the North Shore: Need more adrenaline? Climbers in these 90-minute programs are lowered from the top of the cliff to just above Lake Superior, and then climb back up! (Ages 10 and up.)
I Can Climb! Basic Belay and Safety: For those who want to take their climbing skills to the next level, these three-hour programs focus on knot tying, belaying, rope management skills, use of technical equipment, and climbing commands. (Ages 14 and up.)

Preregistration is required for all I Can Climb! programs.
Early registration is recommended, as these programs tend to fill up fast.

Age Requirements and Waivers
Children under age five may not climb. Climbers must be at least 10 years old for I Can Climb! On the North Shore and at least 14 years old for I Can Climb! Basic Belay and Safety. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All participants are required to sign a waiver of liability prior to climbing. The waiver will be provided at the program but can also be found here.
Have it done before arriving to maximize your climbing time.
I Can Climb!

I Can Climb! On the North Shore
If you or the kids are looking for a little more adrenaline, head to stunning Tettegouche State Park, where climbers are lowered from the top of the cliff to just above Lake Superior and then climb back up. No experience necessary.
Note: Programs at Tettegouche State Park require a short hike to the climbing area. Allow about 20 minutes for your hike, in order to arrive at your climbing program on time.

I Can Climb! Basic Belay and Safety
For those who want to take their climbing skills to the next level, this introductory lesson focuses on knot tying, belaying, rope management skills, use of technical equipment, and climbing commands.
- $35 per climber.
- Ages 14 and older.
- Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Pre-registration is required.
- There will be one morning and one afternoon session each day.
- A vehicle permit is required to enter all Minnesota state parks.
($5/day or $25/year—this is not included in the cost of registration.)
Note: Programs at Blue Mounds State Park require a short hike to the climbing area. Allow about 20 minutes for your hike, in order to arrive at your climbing program on time.

Cancellations
Program fees for I Can Climb! and I Can Climb! The North Shore are non-refundable unless the program is cancelled by the instructors. All programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather or hazardous conditions.
Cancellations for I Can Climb! Basic Belay and Safety can be made up to one week prior to the program.
