State park visitor access during fall special hunts

White-tailed deerThis fall, 42 Minnesota State Parks will be open for special permit deer hunts. See which ones. The DNR Division of Parks and Trails annually holds a number of special deer hunts in order to manage the deer population.

The DNR allows these annual resource management hunts as a way to help control the deer population at state parks. When there are too many deer in one area, the native plants and animals can be negatively affected. The DNR's goal is to ensure healthy natural communities.

Visitors are advised to wear blaze orange in state parks hosting special deer hunts. If you have any questions please contact the respective park manager.
