1 - First to Find

Be the first to find a cache and record your achievement in the cache box logbook as your proof of discovery. 

2 – Wild Card

Find one of the Wild Cards randomly hidden inside Critter Caches, and you can earn a special Wildlife Safari patch. Simply show your card at one of the 25 Demo Park offices. Each year a new, limited edition Wild Card will appear, but only 300 geocachers will be lucky enough to find them.

Keep on the watch for the 2009 Wild Card river otter. These playful critters can swim and maneuver better than many fish, but you will only see its head poking out of that water as it goes. For more fun facts on the river otter, visit Nature Snapshots.

3 – Critter Awards

Inside each Minnesota State Parks Geocaching Wildlife Safari cache will be a Critter Card. Every Critter Card you collect puts you on the path toward rewards. After finding 10 critters, take your cards to any Minnesota state park office and receive a collectable Award Level Card. By gathering 10, 20, 40, and 60 different Critter Cards, you can earn four different rewards!

With each Award Level Card you collect, you are eligible to purchase a special geocoin. Visit any of the 25 Demo Parks, show your Award Level Card(s), and purchase a Geoaching Wildlife Safari geocoin.

4 – All Park Challenge—For the true Wildlife Safari adventurer!

After collecting one Critter Card from each of Minnesota's state parks, stop by any Demo Park office (with your cards), and you can purchase a special Geocaching Wildlife Safari geocoin.
