Seasonal Update

Water: Water is off at the Bear Paw dump station as of October 7.

Drinking Water: Available at the Jacob Brower Visitor Center year round, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Open later during the summer months. Please call for the most updated hours.

Bathroom Facilities: Flush toilets are available year-round in the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center. Facilities are wheelchair accessible. Vault toilets in the park are available year-round.

Showers: Showers are closed for the season as of October 7.

Dump Station: Bear Paw dump station is closed as of October 7 and will reopen for fishing opener.


Campgrounds: Remote sites are open for the season. The park has 231 drive-in campsites, 11 remote backpack sites and 11 cart-in sites available in the spring, summer and fall. Winter season, check in at the Visitor Center. Bear Paw Campground closes for the winter on October 31. Camping available in Pine Ridge Oak and Spruce Loops for the winter.

Electric Sites: Park has 157 electric sites.

Douglas Lodge: The Historic Douglas Lodge and Restaurant is open Memorial Weekend to the first Sunday in October. The Four Season Suites are available to rent year-round.

Trail Notes:
Winter Trails: During the Snow Season there are approximately 13 miles of groomed ski trails with the South Entrance road becoming a ski trail.

Summer: During the summer the park has over 50 miles of hiking trails, 6 miles of designated bike trail and another 10 miles shared with traffic on the wilderness drive. There is also 1.5 miles of wheelchair accessible trail.

During winter, snowshoes are available for rent at the Jacob Brower Visitor Center during regular business hours.
