Seasonal Update
Water: Water will be turned on for the season on May 8, 2013 weather permitting.
Drinking Water: Water in the park's campground day-use areas will be turned on for the season May 8, 2013 weather permitting .
Bathroom Facilities: Modern bathroom facilities in the campground will open May 8, 2013 weather permitting.
Showers: The shower building will open May 8, 2013 weather permitting.
Dump Station: Until further notice, Kathio has no dump station. Father Hennepin State Park's dump station is open during the summer camping season and another dump station is available in the nearby town of Onamia.
Campgrounds: Camping is available year-round. Kathio has several types of camping, including electric, non-electric, rustic, walk-in, camper cabins, backpack, horse and primitive group sites. The park's five heated Camper Cabins are available for use year-round.
Electric Sites: Kathio has 22 electric sites. Three of these sites are pull through and two are wheelchair accessible.
Special Notes for RV Campers: Minnesota State Parks generally do not offer water or sewer hookups.
Reservations: Specific campsites can be reserved one year in advance and are recommended for weekends and holidays May 1 through October 6. Camper cabin reservations can be made up to one year in advance and are recommended year-round.

Trail Notes: Kathio has 35 miles of hiking trails, 27 miles of horse trails (Open May 15 - October 31) and 2 miles of nature trails.
Season Rentals: Canoe, kayak and rowboat rental is available in summer season. Rates for both are $10.00 for 4 hours or less and $20.00 for all day. In winter months, cross-country skis are available for $10.00 per day and snowshoes for $6.00 per day.
Naturalist Programs and Park Tours: Starting May 11 the Interpretive Center will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
