St. Croix State Park
Plan an extended visit to St. Croix. With over 34,000 acres and two great rivers—the Saint Croix River, which is a National Scenic Riverway, and the Kettle River, a State Wild and Scenic River—there's so much to do. Explore the rivers by canoe or with a fishing pole. Swim at Lake Clayton or climb a fire tower.
The park has miles of trails for hikers, horseback riders, bicyclists, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers. Campers can reserve drive-in, walk-in, backpack, and horseback campsites. Large groups can reserve the modern group centers or the primitive group camps.
Tell me more about this park's wildlife, history, geology and landscape.
The fire tower and roads are closed for the season.
Snowmobile and Ski trails will open Saturday, December 7, 2013. The Kettle River is closed due to lack of ice. Entrance and some of the trails to the west will not be groomed this weekend. We hope to finish grooming next week.
With logging the past 2 years 5 corners to Gate 8 and Gate 9 to Gate 31 are in rough condition. Logging is still taking place on the Gate 12 trail. Please drive with caution.
Ski trails will be single tracked today. Thank you and have safe winter season.
