Field Notes: Rivers Course
Healthy Rivers: A Water Course, a new CD-ROM from the DNR, explores the ecology and management of the state's river systems, drawing on the experiences of DNR scientists, resource managers, and citizens.
Through case studies, the CD-ROM leads users on a virtual tour of the Mississippi, Whitewater, Red, and other rivers. Complete with color photos, maps, animations, audio, and video clips, Healthy Rivers provides technical information on how rivers function and first-person accounts of local efforts to restore impaired rivers. Users of the interactive CD-ROM will find many river-related stories and photographs from past issues of the Conservation Volunteer, as well as links to hundreds of other resources.
A tool for people who work with conservation and watershed organizations, land-management agencies, and local governments, Healthy Rivers is available online at Healthy Rivers: A Water Course.
