Lineage

This file represents the thickness between the top of each aquifer and the base of the nearest overlying recharge surface. A description of recharge surfaces is found in Figure 9, Plate 10. Sensitivity estimates were created by calculating the vertical distance between the nearest overlying recharge surface and the top of the aquifer.

The following grid calculations were used:

Recharge surface 1 (rechsurf1)
con(isnull(surfsdelev),elevlakebath,surfsdelev)
Sensitivity of sm (smsens)
rechsurf1-smburiedtop

Recharge surface 2 (rechsurf2)
con(isnull(smsens),rechsurf1,con(smsens>10,
 rechsurf1,smburiedbase))
Sensitivity of sl (slsens)
rechsurf2-slburiedtop

Recharge surface 3 (rechsurf3)
con(isnull(slsens),rechsurf2,con(slsens>10,
 rechsurf2,slburiedbase))
Sensitivity of sc (scsens)
rechsurf3-scburiedtop

Recharge surface 4 (rechsurf4)
con(isnull(scsens),rechcsurf3,con(scsens>10,
 rechsurf3,scburiedbase))
Sensitivity of sc1 (sc1sens)
rechsurf4-sc1buriedtop

Recharge surface 5 (rechsurf5)
con(isnull(sc1sens),rechsurf4,con(sc1sens>10,
 rechsurf4,sc1buriedbase))
Sensitivity of si (sisens)
rechsurf5-qsic_top

Recharge surface 6 (rechsurf6)
con(isnull(sisens),rechsurf5,con(sisens>10,
 rechsurf5,qsic_base))
Sensitivity of sts (stssens)
Rechsurf6-qsts_top

Recharge surface 7 (rechsurf7)
con(isnull(stssens),rechsurf6,con(stsens>10,
 rechsurf6,qsts_base))
Sensitivity of stw (stwsens) and su (susens)
Rechsurf7-qstw_top
Rechsurf7-qsu_top

Recharge surface 8 (rechsurf8)
con(isnull(susens),rechsurf7,con(susens>10,
 rechsurf7,su_base))
Sensitivity of bedrock (bedrocksens)
rechsurf8-btgd

The sensitivity rating model, based on the thickness of the protective layer between the aquifer and the nearest overlying recharge surface, is described in Figure 3 of Plate 10. Sensitivity ratings are applied as follows:

The final raster was converted to a polygon shapefile.

Sensitivity interpretation was based on overlapping estimated time of travel ranges as follows:
