Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia)

Native perennial to 1', widespread in northern forests in rocky dry habitats and under conifers. Basal leaves long-stalked, heart-shaped, usually gone before flowers appear. Blooms June-August. Stem leaves narrow and alternate. Flowers purplish blue, bell-shaped and nodding. Same plant as the bluebell of Scotland.
