Northern blue flag (Iris versicolor)

Perennial blue-flowered native iris, to 3', found in shallow water and wet soils. Blue lines on the flowers guide insects into pollen chambers, enabling pollination. Leaves are sword-like and flattened. Blooms June. Irises are poisonous if ingested.
