Red baneberry (Actaea rubra)

Native, perennial plant, 1-2', in woodlands. Tiny, clustered white flowers on a long stalk develop into red or white berries. Flowers in June, berries ripen in July. Dark green leaves are divided into several toothed leaflets. The fruits are eaten by ruffed grouse but are poisonous to humans.
