Silverleaf scurfpea (Pediomelum argophyllum)

Legume to 2 feet tall. Alternate, palmately compound (3 to 5 leaflets), silvery haired leaves and clusters of small, deep blue flowers. Blooms June-August. Plant tumbles about, scattering seeds on its dry prairie habitat after an abscission layer forms near the ground in the fall.
