Wood anemone (Anemone quinquefolia var. quinquefolia)

Perennial spring flower of woodlands; blooms in May and is up to 6" tall. Often found in patches. Flower, one per stem, consists of 5 white, pink or lavender petal-like sepals and a rounded center. Leaves are divided into 3-5 irregularly cut leaflets.
