Buckhorn Lake WMA

Directions: From Grey Eagle, go 1.5 miles N on MN28, then 2.25 miles E and S on CR103, then 0.25 miles W on Township Road to the WMA.

Restrictions: Minimum Maintenence road access in poor condition. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the WMA except on designated routes and parking lots. Off-highway vehicles (OHVs), all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and snowmobiles are prohibited anywhere on the WMA.

Description: This WMA consists of rolling oak hills with grass fields located on the east side of Buckhorn Lake. Management of this unit focuses on maintaining and improving the habitat for a diversity of native plants and wildlife.

Recreational opportunities exist throughout the year, including hunting, trapping, hiking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, and wildlife watching/photography.

At this scale, these WMA boundaries are general, and do not accurately represent the actual legal boundaries. WMA users still need to verify public lands boundaries by observing boundary signs and contacting local DNR Wildlife offices.
