Rako WMA

Nearest Town: Baudette
Area: 404 ac

Directions: From Baudette, go 21 miles S on MN 72 then 2 miles W on CSAH 1 then 2 miles N on CR 132

Description: This four hundred acre WMA contains lowland forested bog and hardwood swamp communities with extensive shrub swamp, sedge meadow, bog, and fens. Future aspen harvests will promote age class diversity. Burning, shearing, mowing used to maintain openings.

Small game hunting include rails, snipe, woodcock, ruffed grouse and snowshoe hare.

At this scale, these WMA boundaries are general, and do not accurately represent the actual legal boundaries. WMA users still need to verify public lands boundaries by observing boundary signs and contacting local DNR Wildlife offices.
