North Rapid River WMA
County: Lake of the Woods Directions: From Carp, go 1/2 miles N on County Highway 1 then 1 mile W on County Highway 16 then 2 miles W on township road then 2 miles W on County Road 146 then 3 1/4 miles S and W on Bankton Forest Road. Description: This newly acquired WMA (2001) is 80 acres of mixed Jack Pine/Aspen forest along the North Branch of the Rapid River. Location is four miles west of the Pitt forest grade on the Bankton Forest Road. Scenic spot along the river. There are currently no public user facilities on this unit. Grouse, deer, bear, forest birds and riparian wildlife may be found here. |
