Whitewater WMA

Species:

The WMA is managed to provide habitat for deer, ruffed grouse, and turkey.

Objectives

The uplands on this WMA will be managed to provide habitat for forest-dependent wildlife by maintaining a diverse mosaic of forest types and ages. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining or enhancing the oak component in deciduous hardwood stands.

Strategies

Prescribed burning and commercial timber harvest will be used to promote natural regeneration.

This WMA will be monitored for invasive species and control measures implemented as appropriate.
