Vermillion Highlands Research Recreation & WMA Hunting Information
This information applies only to the Vermillion Highlands Research Recreation and WMA NOT the Vermillion River WMA/AMA. Please refer to the Vermillion River Complex reference map below for approximate WMA/AMA boundaries.
General:
- Please do not block field access roads or gates when parking your vehicles.
- Please respect the ongoing agricultural operations and do not interfere with such operations in any way.
- Please do not trespass into areas delineated by fencing and marked "No Trespassing" such as the Gun Club.
- Within the Firearms Deer Hunting Boundary of Vermillion Highlands, only those with valid permits are allowed from Nov 7 thru December 13th. See the 2009 Firearms/Muzzleloader deer hunt map

NOTE: The WMA is NOT OPEN to Fall Turkey Hunting for 2009.
2009 Shotgun and Muzzleloader Hunt
- Shotgun Hunt runs from November 7th through November 20th, 2009
- Muzzleloader Hunt runs from November 28th through December 13th, 2009
- 25 permits are available for each hunt
- Applications are due by September 10th 2009
2009 Shotgun and Muzzleloader season applications will be handled through the Electronic Licensing System (ELS) this year.
2009 Late Season Goose and Pheasant Hunting
- Goose hunting on the Vermillion Highlands is permitted during the December (Late) season only and runs from December 12th thru December 21st 2009
- Pheasant hunting on the Vermillion Highlands is permitted from December 14th through January 3rd, 2009.
- Hunting is permitted on a first come, first serve basis.
- Hunters are required to park in one of twelve designated parking slots located within the WMA. See the Vermillion Highlands WMA 2009 Pheasant Hunt map

2009 Fall Deer Archery Hunt Applications are due August 15, 2009.
- Hunt runs from September 15th through November 1, 2009
- 60 Permits will be available
