Vermillion Highlands Research Recreation & WMA Hunting Information
This information applies only to the Vermillion Highlands Research Recreation and WMA NOT the Vermillion River WMA/AMA. Please refer to the Vermillion River Complex reference map below for approximate WMA/AMA boundaries.
General:
- Please do not block field access roads or gates when parking your vehicles.
- Please respect the ongoing agricultural operations and do not interfere with such operations in any way.
- Please do not trespass into areas delineated by fencing and marked "No Trespassing" such as the Gun Club.
2012 Spring Turkey Hunting
- Spring turkey hunting on Vermillion Highlands is permitted from April 18th through May 31st with a valid license for Permit Area 510.
2012 Special Deer Hunts
- Shotgun Hunt
Dates: November 3rd through the 16th, 2012
25 permits are available (application deadline is September 6th, 2012)
All successful applicants must attend an orientation session on the evening of October 25th, 2012 to receive a valid permit.
- Muzzleloader Hunt
Dates: November 24th through December 9th, 2012
25 permits are available (application deadline is September 6th, 2012)
All successful applicants must attend an orientation session on the evening of November 15th, 2012 to receive a valid permit.
Shotgun and Muzzleloader special deer hunt applications will be handled through the Electronic Licensing System (ELS)
- Archery Hunt
Dates: September 15th through October 28th, 2012
65 permits are available (application deadline is August 15th, 2012)
All successful applicants must attend an orientation session on the evening of August 30th, 2012 to receive a valid permit.
