Guidance for Safely Opening Outdoor Recreation

The Stay Safe MN Executive Order 20-74 allows Minnesotans to enjoy many outdoor recreational activities, and provides for the safe reopening of various businesses and organizations.

Below are guidelines for outdoor recreation facilities and the public. These guidelines, which were jointly developed by Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), explain how the public can remain healthy and safe while engaging in outdoor recreation. They also address requirements for the safe operation of marinas, equipment rental, events, guides, and other authorized outdoor recreation facilities and activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also included below are guidance documents for safely reopening and operating campgrounds and charter and launch boats that wish to reopen under Phase II of Minnesota’s Stay Safe Plan. These guidelines identify the public health protection measures that these facilities and operations must address in their required COVID-19 Preparedness Plan.
