Geocaching: Aquatic Quest

Geocaching - Aquatic Quest

#cachethewave

You're invited on a geocaching quest through Minnesota's state parks and trails. Use a GPS unit to find hidden caches while discovering the fascinating plants and animals that live in our waters. The hunt begins April 22, 2018, and ends October 31, 2020.

The Challenges

Collect the Aquatic Cards

Each state park or trail cache contains a collectible aquatic card, with a beautiful photo on the front and fun facts on the back. A different card is featured at each location – see if you can collect all 82!

Earn the Habitat Cards

Earn a habitat card when you find 10, 20, 40, 60 and 82 caches. Redeem by bringing your aquatic cards to any of the geocaching checkpoints. Present them to state park staff and they will give you a habitat card.

Attend an Interpretive Program

Attend a geocaching or water-themed state park or trail program and receive a limited edition recreation card. A new card is featured each year. Find qualifying programs on our geocaching events page.

Join the Finishers' Gallery!

After you've finished the program and found all the caches, take a picture of yourself with the final "82 caches" aquatic card. Feel free to include family, friends, pets or anyone else that helped you complete the Aquatic Quest. Caption and upload your photograph on the Aquatic Quest Finishers page and we'll add your picture to the gallery. (It can take a few days to do this, so please be patient.)
