The DNR invites public review and written comment on a proposal by Roseau County to obtain state Grant-in-Aid (GIA) funding to maintain and operate an 81-mile All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) trail in the Beltrami Island State Forest.
The GIA trail will be established on existing designated ATV trails, and on forest, township, and county roads where ATV use is already allowed. Bringing the trail into the GIA program will provide additional funding for trail maintenance, repair, safety improvements, monitoring, and enforcement.
The trail will be maintained by the Roseau/Lake of the Woods Sportsman's Club, under agreement with Roseau County. The trail will connect to the existing Bemis Hill Area OHV Trails, maintained by the Northstar ATV Club.
