Highway 67 detour updates

Collapsed pavement on both sides of Highway 67 (MnDOT photo)In April 2019, Highway 67 collapsed between the park office/main entrance and the Yellow Medicine Campground road. The highway is permanently closed in both directions and there is an unavoidable 16-mile detour between the two locations.

Follow the detour to travel between the park's main entrance and the Yellow Medicine Campground. There is no way to avoid this detour. Do not use the park address in your GPS if you are going to the Yellow Medicine Campground.

Visit the MnDOT project page for more information.

Find the campgrounds by GPS

Be aware that Google Maps and most other map and GPS maps are routing people down the closed highway to get between the park office and the campgrounds. This will not work!

Use these map links in your GPS instead:

Coming from the west

If you are traveling east on Highway 67, you can access the horse camp and the park office/main entrance.

To get to the Yellow Medicine Campground, you will need to follow the highway detour. Do not use the park address in your GPS if you are going to the campground - it will take you to the visitor center on the opposite side of the detour, 16 miles from the campground.

Coming from the east

If you are traveling west on Highway 67, you can access the Yellow Medicine Campground.

To get to the horse camp and the park office/main entrance, you will need to follow the highway detour. Use the park address in your GPS to get there: 5908 Highway 67, Granite Falls, MN.
