Lineage | This is a polygon file of the overlay patterns found on Plate 9 indicating the distribution of outwash or colluvium, alluvium, or thin till (5 feet to 50 feet thick). The thin till portion of the file was derived from the dtln file (drift thickness line cover). This file was converted to a polygon file. A separate file of alluvium and outwash/colluvium was created from the sgpg file (surficial geology polygons) and joined in a union operation with the drift thickness polygon file. Next, the alluvium and outwash/colluvium polygons were merged to eliminate boundaries from the drift thickness file. Finally, the contour intervals greater than 50 feet were selected and deleted creating the final shapefile of thin till, alluvium, and outwash/colluvium. |

Entity and Attribute Overview | |
Entity and Attribute Detailed Citation HTML Table (Not Available) | sdovbdpy.dbf | | | | SEDIMENT | Overlying sediment type: "outwsh/colluvium" refers to outwash or colluvium sediments; "alluvium" refers to alluvium; and "thintill" refers to till between 5 and 50 feet in depth below the land surface. | | OVERLAP | "yes" indicates polygons that overlap other polygons of a different sediment type (this occurs only with thin till and outwash or colluvium). "no" indicates polygons with no overlap. |
