Lineage | The unsaturated Hinckley Sandstone polygons were created by Jim Berg with water level data and geologic stratigraphy data from the County Well Index (CWI). A new polygon file was created in ArcView 3.3 on-screen by forming polygons around the CWI point data with interpolations that accounted for river valleys and other topographic features. The buried sand and gravel polygons were created by selecting the thickest polygons from DTNT (MGS Part A) that were not within or near the boundaries of glacial Lake Lind. Vintage bedrock aquifer tritium data were used to help determine the extent of buried sand and gravel used in the file. The unknown and gravel polygons were created using surficial sand and gravel polygons from SGNT (MGS Part A), surficial sand and gravel information from the County Well Index, and surface resistivity image data. Areas that contained little or no well log or geophysical data were coded as unknown in the attribute table. |
