Lineage | This file was made with water level information from three general sources : located and unlocated driller’s logs, USGS well logs, and measurements by DNR staff in conjunction with well sampling for this atlas project. The driller’s log data were obtained from the CWI database and represent a data set that was collected over a period of several decades and spans seasonal and multi-year climatic trends of wet and dry conditions. Where the dataset included both CWI drillers log information and water levels collected by DNR staff, the DNR data were used. Jim Berg created the potentiometric surface of the CW aquifer by labeling the water elevation values next to the well locations in Arc GIS 9.1 with both a topographic DEM and a topographic map as background layers. Water elevations were drawn by Jim Berg as 20-foot line contours by digitizing on-screen using the land topography as a guide in areas where data were scarce. |
