Lineage | This file represents the thickness between the top of each aquifer and the base of the nearest overlying recharge surface. A description of recharge surfaces is found in Figure 3, Plate 9. Sensitivity estimates were created by calculating the vertical distance between the nearest overlying recharge surface and the top of the aquifer. The following grid calculations were used. Sensitivity Calculations using recharge surfaces immediately above aquifers: ATL SAND AQUIFER [rs1] - [atlsandtop] S1MT AQUIFER [rs2] - [s1mttop_cor] BGLS AQUIFER [rs3_cor] - [bglstop] BTN1 AQUIFER [rs4] - [btn1top] BTN2 AQUIFER [rs5] - [btn2top_cor] BTN3 AQUIFER [rs6_cor] - [btn3top_cor] BTS1 AQUIFER [rs7_cor] - [bts1top] BTS2 AQUIFER [rs8] - [bts2top_cor] BTS3 AQUIFER [rs9_cor] - [bts3top] The sensitivity rating model, based on the thickness of the protective layer between the aquifer and the nearest overlying recharge surface, is described in Figure 3 of Plate 9. Sensitivity ratings are applied as follows: Protective layer thickness - - Sensitivity Rating 0 to 10 feet - - High or Very High 10 to 20 feet - - Moderate or High 20 to 30 feet - - Moderate 30 to 40 feet - - Low Greater than 40 feet - - Very Low The final raster was converted to a polygon shapefile. Sensitivity interpretation was based on overlapping estimated time of travel ranges as follows: Red - - Very High - - Hours to months Orange - - High - - Weeks to years Yellow - - Moderate - - Years to decades Light green - - Low - - Decades to a century Dark green - - Very Low - - A century or more |
