The visitor center is located just steps away from the cave entrance. Here, visitors can purchase tour tickets and receive an orientation to the cave and the park. Exhibits explain the geology of the area and the history of the cave. The building hosts an information center, interactive exhibits, lecture/exhibit room, Nature Store and restrooms.
Be sure to stop at the Nature Store and see a wide variety of nature-related gifts, gifts of food, and books. You'll find merchandise that reflects the nature and features of the park and cave plus great gifts for children. Proceeds from Nature Store purchases fund resource and interpretive projects in state parks. The store is open during visitor center hours.
Mystery Cave is just one part of the 3,000-acre Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. Camping, fishing, hiking and touring the historic site are all popular activities at the main park area.
