Description: The rustic campground adjacent to Rock Lake is considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. Vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water are available.

All sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Highlights: The campground has 48 sites, of which 13 are lakeside sites. One-third of the sites will fit a 30-foot RV. There are also swimming and water access, fishing, and nature trails.

Rock Lake Day-Use Area is adjacent to the campground and provides six picnic sites, a swimming beach, and water access to Rock Lake.

Visitor Alert:

The Rock Lake Campground and Walter Stark Horse Camp in the Pillsbury State Forest are now open for camping. Campers should be aware that several campsites at Rock Lake are closed until more work can be completed on those sites. Most of the trails in the Pillsbury State Forest require more work before they are completely open. The Walking Stick, Lost Lake and Oak Ridge minimum maintenance roads are open, as well as the other roads running through the Pillsbury State Forest.
